Let me a little transparent with you…

When I first launched the tiffanynicoleforever blog, I was all over the place. I couldn’t decide which direction I wanted to take my message. It’s the curse of having knowledge and experience in many different areas. I literally had no idea where to start. I even questioned if what I had to share could really make a difference in the lives of my audience. I didn’t want to be just another blogger, writing articles and creating content just because. I wanted to change lives.

The not so funny thing about fear and doubt is that they come out of nowhere. One minute I was super confident… the next, I was second guessing everything. Reminding myself that although I had life experience and loved writing, I hadn’t published new content since 2011 – and I had only (finally) completed my undergrad degree in 2012, after returning to school post-2009-economic-crash.

I was overwhelmed and under-convinced that the world needed my voice…

Sometimes… Lemons are just Lemons!

You’ve always had a plan. You knew that it would all work out, just the way you envisioned… until it didn’t.

You may not have been obsessive about the details, but you at least had an idea of what career you wanted, the type of house you envisioned living in and an approximate date for when you thought you’d be married or have children… and even where you wanted to be at this point in your life. You had a general outline… right? A map of sorts, that you planned to navigate right to your end destination. That is until everything fell apart and you had no idea how you deviated so far off course.

That was 2008, in a nutshell for me. I started the year on cloud 9. My real estate business was booming. I was earning great money. I had a gorgeous home and I had just launched my 1^st publication. The stars and the heavens seemed to be aligning perfectly.

I had goals.

I felt like my journey was leading me straight towards my dream life.

And then, everything fell apart.

Action Over Excuses

Let’s be honest, it’s easy not to show up, not to be present and not to put in effort; but in order to create the life of your dreams, you will have to fully commit to the process. You will have to be present and work for it, even when you don’t feel like it… and even when you’re not progressing the way you thought you would.

You WILL have to choose ACTION over EXCUSES!

This lesson hit home today. I realized how much I had been sabotaging my own efforts. I have a goal to get into the best shape of my life. To eat better and exercise more. To start honoring my body and giving it the attention it deserves.

There comes a time in your life that you must be ready to embrace who you really are. For some that means a career change or a new hobby. For me, it meant finding a situation that freed me to actually create and live my dream life.

It meant a return to entrepreneurship.

More than money or just being my own boss, the true fuel behind my decision to become an entrepreneur was freedom. It was the one option that would allow me to truly embrace all of the skills, the knowledge, the experience and the passion that makes me… me.

I desperately needed to be the master of my own time and have the flexibility to pursue my purpose. I no longer wanted my worth determined by an employer and I wanted complete control of the direction that my life was heading in.

The Ugly Truth About Being Stuck

Truth?

love being productive. I’m one of those people that likes to get things done. I enjoy being in the thick of my work and knowing that I’m making things happen and I feel an intense sense of empowerment when I accomplish a goal. It’s that rush that I get when I’ve tackled something major, something important… something worthwhile.

If I’m being honest, I’m a little different. I don’t work well under duress, under someone else’s thumb or on someone else’s schedule. I’m not a 9-5’er. Not by nature, not by choice.

For me, productivity starts with creative freedom, a positive state of mind and the right environment. The latter, can do wonders for my mindset; because, I’m most focused when I’m organized, surrounded by light and beauty and I’m able to disconnect from the ‘noise’. It’s kind of like being in my own world. When I’m inspired, energized and excited, I’m at my very best, completely unstoppable! It’s awesome.

About a year ago, I was feeling defeated and frustrated. There were several things in my life that just weren’t progressing the way that I had expected them to, and I felt like I was going nowhere. I remember going to bed one night, full of anxiety about the next day, specifically being overwhelmed with dread about the next day at work – and then, I had an ah-ha moment.

An ah-ha moment occurs when you discover something about yourself, your environment, or even the universe that you hadn’t known or been open to before. You feel the new awareness deep in your soul. They can no longer be ignored or denied.

My ah-ha moment that night when I was reminded of the Jim Rohn quote – one that I was extremely familiar with, but on this night, it meant so much more:
