Don’t underestimate the importance of tribe. There’s something special about surrounding yourself with the right people… that want to see you happy and fulfilled. Being around people that don’t have your best interest at heart, can be incredibly stressful and abusive.
Did you know that in 1918 the British parliament voted in the Representation of The People Act? …which gave (some) women a voice in politics for the very first time. Much like the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the passing of this legislation left much to be desired. The voting process was still skewed to favor the wealthy but it was a hard-won step in the right direction.
Ringing in a new year doesn’t mean that everything changes for the better. One key element to embracing a better more intentional way of living is to evaluate those closest to you, your friends. It’s time to get honest about who’s a part of your tribe and who’s holding you back from your best life!
