If only there were more hours in the day. Or, you didn’t have to work overtime so often. If only you could find some tips to help you achieve more during your working day.
While we can’t provide you with more hours for your day, we have a few tips to help. Follow our suggestions to help you stress less and get more done.
start the day the right way
Before you start work for the day, do those things that are going to give you a much-needed energy boost. Eat a healthy breakfast. Focus on foods that can enhance productivity. Then spend some time in meditation or doing a little exercise. Having a solid morning routine will increase productivity and peace of mind.
Don’t waste your time focusing on those activities that can be done tomorrow or later in the week. You need to start with those time-sensitive activities that need to be completed before the days out. List time-sensitive tasks as the first things you need to do on your to-do list. Then, keep a separate running list of things that need your attention later.
organize your workspace
You won’t have to spend time looking for something important if your workspace has been decluttered and organized effectively. You should always be able to get your hands on what you need when you need it. Take the time to purge, clean, and organize your workspace. Get rid of anything that is no longer useful, leaving only what you really need to be productive.
time-outs were really for adults
It might seem counterproductive, but taking breaks will actually give you the means to get more done. The longer you spend working continuously, the more tired you will become. In turn, your productivity might then slow down. To prevent this, you should remove yourself from your workspace occasionally. Do something in this time that leaves you feeling refreshed and energized.
find ways to avoid disruption
Despite your best efforts to work hard, there will always be something to disrupt your productivity. It might be a phone call from a friend or family member, for example. Or it could be an issue with your computer hardware. When such disruptions occur, your workflow will slow down and you might struggle to complete what you need to do on time.
Considering these and other disruptions that you regularly face, you should find ways to eliminate them. In the case of your computer, be proactive about reducing the danger of downtime by having a managed IT service on speed dial.
