Let’s be honest. You know that you were created to do more than what you’re doing right now. You’ve wanted to evolve into the woman that you know you’re meant to be for quite some time. But, sitting on the sidelines watching, cheering, waiting… will never take you to the next level. Only you can make that happen.

I’ve met countless women that want to experience massive success. They can see themselves becoming the woman in their dreams, but they have no idea where to start. In this post, I’m addressing a few key areas that need your attention in order for you to move from stagnation to success.

be honest with yourself… brutally

If you’ve gotten off track, distracted or lost… or you’ve found yourself a little too comfortable with your daily routine – acknowledge it.

When you’re able to expose the reality of your situation and call a ‘thing a thing’ (in my best Iyanla voice), then and only then are you able to face it. The reason that you haven’t achieved the success you desire is that you haven’t made it a priority, you don’t want it bad enough, or you’re letting fear and excuses narrate the story of your life.

Take back the pen.

Take a hard look at what success means to you. Unravel it. Undress it. Take it to the bare bone and get real clear on the true vision that you have for your life. Then, get real honest with yourself about why you aren’t doing all you can to get there. Hiding behind the thoughts – that we’ve convinced ourselves to believe – that serve as validation for our lack of action, will only keep you right where you are.

build your tribe

We often hear people talk about tribe as it pertains to relationship/community, support, and connection; but your tribe (or one of) can serve as your level-up-squad as well.

Imagine if you had a tribe of women with 3 levels:

  1. women that have been where you’re trying to (mentors, guides, elders)
  2. women that are striving to get to the same level that you’re fighting for (colleagues, accountability partners, your business besties)
  3. and women that are looking to you for inspiration (mentees)

How much more focused would you be if you had women pulling you up to greatness; women standing alongside you holding you up by having your back and making sure that you don’t lose sight of the vision; and women that depend on you to become who you’re meant to be for them to have their turn? Take a look at your current tribe and add where needed.

your work ethic is everything

You see women every day that you believe are less experienced, less educated, or less eloquent as you are – yet, they are thriving and finding success at every corner. Why? Because their work ethic leaves yours in the dust every time.

They’re relentless. They know they’re worth and they will not settle. They’ve mastered the art of ‘no excuses’ and ‘by any means necessary’. I know this because every time I stay on my grind and put my head down with focus and intent – the universe rewards me with opportunity and it will do the same for you.

This concept is universal.

Whether we’re talking about getting ahead in our careers, improving our marriage or getting our credit together – there’s work that only we can do to start creating a life we love! So, ask yourself: are you really the hardest working woman in the room, or have you just been telling yourself that?

finding the resources

If there’s something that you’ve been putting off because you’ve convinced yourself that you don’t have the resources, it’s time to change your thinking. When we start to believe that we’re already defeated we shut down the flow of possibility. Start forcing yourself to find a solution.

Be a problem solver.

Want more alone time with your lover? Stop waiting for them to plan something, you do it. Need extra money? Get a part-time job, apply for a promotion or start a side-hustle. So busy at work that you can’t keep up with the house? Hire a housekeeper or have meals delivered a few times a week. Own your own business and trying to do it all? Consider partnering with freelancers, bringing on interns, or outsourcing tasks that have taken up too much of your time and are outside of your expertise.

I know that some of these examples are easier said than done but the point is to remove the victim mentality and start empowering yourself to find – or create – the answer, not succumb to defeat!

create a space that empowers you

I’m amazed at the women I come across that don’t understand the value of curating an empowering space – an authentic space that is custom to you. This could be a room in your home that you decorate and accessorize into you’re own private haven. Or maybe even your workplace – so that you’re inspired and calm throughout the day.

Your environment can influence your mood, your ability to focus, and your productivity. Make it a priority to infuse a little of what makes you happy into every space you spend a lot of time in. Remove anything that causes clutter, distracts you, or messes with the flow of the space. Don’t worry, this doesn’t have to be a massive undertaking.

Start small.

Paint a few walls. Add feel-good accessories to the decor. Find a few scents that you like and keep them on hand. Oil diffusers, scented candles or even plugins can do wonders for your mood and temperament.

If you’re able to go all out, consider full renovations or upgrading spaces. A dull dated kitchen might be uninspiring for your dreams of learning to cook. Or an office space with fluorescent lighting and low ceilings might feel more like a prison than a happy place to work.

Tip: Before you run off and take my advice… a note of caution. Be careful. I don’t want you to add to your stress by hiring an unscrupulous contractor or handyman. Make sure you get reviews and that you only work with highly recommended residential and reputable commercial builders.
