Approaching life properly is about acknowledging the bad habits that strip us of happiness and finding ways to fix them. It doesn’t have to happen overnight but it will happen. All you need to do today is start.

For example, start paying attention to all the lies you tell yourself. You might deny yourself certain opportunities because you tell yourself you’re too young and inexperienced or too old and your moment’s passed. However, your potential to achieve something depends not on your age but your mental ability.

You’re the only real obstacle that can stop you from chasing your dreams in life. If there’s something you want to do that you know could make you happier today then you need to do it. Confidence really is the key. And if you have to fake it until you make it then you should because that’s what everyone else is doing. We all play pretend as grown-ups, parents, professionals, and all the other roles we adopt through life. You feign confidence until you feel confident. That’s how you approach life properly. It might seem stereotypical but it’s really as simple as that: a dose of confidence and perseverance until you get what you want in life. Essentially, you can choose to be happy.

Make strong connections

Of course, real happiness is gained through selflessness. It’s important that you treat yourself well and find individual happiness but it’s always going to be a lonely life if you don’t form meaningful relationships with others. Maybe you’re a social butterfly who flourishes in large groups or maybe you’re an introverted individual who prefers a few close friends. Either way, we all flourish through some sort of connection with others.

Whether you deal with stress at work or anxiety every day, living a healthy life can make a huge difference. Developing a healthy sleep schedule will give your body the energy it needs to get through the day. You’ll have more energy be less prone to illnesses, pains, and fatigue.

Most of us are too busy to squeeze a 3-hour session at the gym into our busy days. In fact, most of us are too busy to make a 30-minute workout happen. But it’s not about the quantity of physical activity you do; it’s about the quality of it. Think about it this way: Fitting a quick 10-minute run into your busy schedule will do more for your health than a half-hearted 30-minute jog.
