6 Step Mental Detox
The 6 Step Mental Detox
Life is busy. Overwhelming even… sometimes to the point that we can find ourselves so intertwined with responsibilities, appointments, housework, and bills – that we start to lose our own identity. We begin to believe that we are currently experiencing the sum total of what life has to offer, and that’s the furthest thing from the truth. Most of us haven’t even scratched the surface.
Most of us haven’t even scratched the surface.
I’m sure that we’ve all thought a time or two, that there has to be more to life than our current situation… and to be honest, there is! But if you’ve ever had that thought, you may be in need of a cleanse – no tea, ACV, or lemons involved – just you consciously deciding to do better for yourself and find your true happiness.
here are 6 steps to get you there
What’s really holding you back?
Identify anything that is negative or toxic in your life. This may be a person, a trinket that reminds you of something, or even a certain environment. Once you’ve identified the source, get rid of it.
Find what makes you most peaceful
Whether it’s reading a book, listening to music that you love, or spending time with your significant other, pinpoint the moments that you feel the most at ease. Then, start infusing each of these things into your life daily.
Be your own source of positivity
We’ve all heard the cliché statements “something good will come from this” or “look on the bright side” … but there’s really is something to this way of thinking. When you focus on the good, no matter how small and insignificant it may seem, you shift your mindset from worry and anxiety to positivity and possibility.

It’s easy to get so caught up in what we want to have – constantly focused on the future and what we’re working to achieve, that we forget to experience happiness right now! Remind yourself that tomorrow isn’t promised and to be present and enjoy today.

Most of the time we don’t give ourselves credit for all that we accomplish. We tend to only acknowledge major milestones and discard the simple victories in life.
Did you make it to day 2 of that squat challenge?
Celebrate.
Did you meet your goal to read 10 pages of that book today?
Celebrate.
Did you finally organize your closet?
Celebrate.
These things may seem trivial, but every positive change you make deserves to be celebrated.
Being happy starts with making simple choices every day… consistently, until you no longer have to think about it; because, it’s just who you are. Happy.
